Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. Timatch has no account and no sign-up. You can start using it the moment it is installed.

What is free and what needs Timatch Pro?

Free forever: your game collection, session setup, the running timer, the score sheet, session history and the core statistics.

Timatch Pro adds all timer modes (turn limits, chess clock, countdown, free turn order), penalty rules, insights and game recommendations, iCloud sync, Apple TV and Apple Watch support, BoardGameGeek bulk import, tag and metadata management, places, and PDF/CSV export.

How do I restore a purchase on a new device?

Open Settings → Timatch Pro and tap "Restore Purchases". Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. Timatch Pro is Family Shareable, so members of your family group can use it too.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by the app. Open the Settings app on your device, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Timatch. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the renewal date stops the next charge.

The Apple TV display does not appear

The Apple Watch does not show my turn

The Watch app is part of the iPhone app. Make sure it is installed on the watch (Watch app → Timatch → Show App on Apple Watch), that both devices are paired and nearby, and that a session is running on the iPhone.

BoardGameGeek search returns an error

The BoardGameGeek API occasionally rejects requests or answers slowly when it is under load, and a collection import can take a moment before the data is ready. Try again after a short wait. If it keeps failing on mobile data, try on Wi-Fi. You can always add a game by hand instead.

Will I lose a running session if the app closes?

No. The timer works from timestamps stored in the database rather than from a ticking counter, so a session survives closing the app, a restart and a crash.

How do I get my data out?

Any session can be exported as a PDF report, a CSV file or a re-importable Timatch file. The whole database can be exported as a full backup from Settings.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → Factory reset removes all local data. If iCloud sync was on, also delete the app's data from iCloud in the iOS Settings app under your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
